Senior Archives Officer
Your new role will:
• Take part in formulating and implementing Archives and Records Management programmes
• Perform arrangement, description and preservation of the collection
• Liaise and coordinate with internal and external parties on archives related matters
• Maintain and operate the archives collection management system
• Assist in preparing and conducting oral history interviews
• Handle audio-visual editing and digitization tasks
• Design, co-ordinate and participate in outreach programme to promote the archives services
• Conduct research and attend to internal and external enquiry
• Provide administrative support to the Department
• Occassionally visit overseas offices may be required for record management tasks
What you'll need to succeed:
• Degree holder or above in History, Information management or related discipline. A postgraduate qualification in archives & records management would be ideal
• Min. 6 years working experience in archives or library setting
• A team player with self-motivation, detail orientated and work independently
• Excellence in interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Proficient in operating computerized systems
• Willing to develop new skills to fit with the job requirement
• Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese, and able to do Chinese typing (Traditional and Simplified Characters)
• Require lifting and moving boxes up to 10KG
• Candidate with less experience will be considered for the position of Archives Officer.
