The Chinese University of Hong Kong Library is now looking for a Project Co-ordinator II.

The appointee will be assigned to support the operations of the University Archives and CUHK History Gallery.

Reporting to the University Archivist, the appointee’s duties include (a) liaising with various offices in the acquisition of records of permanent value; (b) organising and preserving archival materials; (c) preparing finding aids for collections; (d) conducting research on topics relating to CUHK history; (e) overseeing daily operations of the CUHK History Gallery, including venue maintenance and facility management; (f) assisting in curation of archival materials for exhibitions; (g) developing and leading guided tours, outreach programs and other education activities; (h) supporting digitization initiatives; (i) updating and maintaining webpages; (j) answering enquires and handling administrative issues relating to the unit; and (k) performing other tasks as assigned. Shift duties in the evenings, at weekends or on holidays at library helpdesks are required.
 
Applicants should have (i) a good Bachelor’s degree; (ii) at least 2 years’ relevant work experience in archives or museum environment; (iii) demonstrated experience in the organization and preservation of historical documents; (iv) an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; (v) proficiency in computer applications, such as MS Office; (vi) strong interpersonal and communication skills; and (vii) a positive attitude and good team spirit. Post-graduate qualification in archives and records management, proficiency with archival management system, such as ArchivesSpace, and experience in exhibition curation will be advantageous.
 
Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
