The primary role of the appointee is to support the operations of the University Archives, including transferring, organizing, preserving, and cataloging records in both physical and digital formats. The appointee will assist with web archiving and digitization projects, support the setup of exhibitions, and handle user inquiries and access requests. The appointee will also provide support to Special Collections and perform general clerical duties. Shift duties at the counter may be required.
Applicants should have at least 5 passes including English (min. Grade C if Syllabus A or level 2 if results were obtained from 2007 onwards) and Chinese in the HKCEE; or 5 subjects, including English Language and Chinese Language, attaining level 2 or above (or equivalent) in the HKDSE. They should have proficiency in MS Office applications and Chinese word processing and have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese. The ideal candidate should possess meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Previous working experience in an academic library and/or knowledge of archival principles and practices will be an advantage. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
